This painting represents the difficulties one encounters during meditation. It is often hard to concentrate, to reach the necessary inner silence.
The color dark blue (Wisnu) stands for inner silence and concentration that is needed for meditation; the color red is the typical human color which distracts and interferes concentration.
The black and white in the middle represents the duality (poleng) and the inner balance; only through inner balance one can reach the state of consciousness needed for meditation and rise up to the white and golden colors (energy) of the Higher Self.
